2000black - “So Right”

Ladies and gents, I’m so amped for this project it’s not funny.  If you enjoy vibing out to groundbreaking artists such as 4hero and Bugz in the Attic or are a huge fan of the one-time Silhouette Brown project (much like myself), this is for you.  And even if you’re not and want to hear something fresh, read on…

Dego (4hero) and Kaidi Tatham (Bugz in the Attic) have teamed up again under a new alias:  2000black.  And very soon they will be dropping an album entitled A Next Set of Rockers.  Here’s the official press release chatter that kinda sums up the vibe of the release better than I can at the moment:

After many groundbreaking compilations and sideline projects (DKD & Silhouette Brown) the sound of London boogie arrives!  A Next Set a Rockers is a genre-defying collection of studio recordings demonstrating all that has influenced 2000black.  Soul, funk and boogie are revealed in the band’s very own unique style.  The labyrinth of ’70s synthesizers and drums create a lavish warm feel in contrast to the current digital age.

A Next Set of Rockers has been crafted by the production skills of 4hero’s Dego and Bugz In the Attic’s Kaidi Tatham.  Tracks like “Fabulous” drop hypnotic dancehall percussion-laced under the warmest Brazillian sound.  In addition the duo’s dynamic sound is complemented by strong songs such as “Lost It” featuring the voice of Face, “So Right” with Ferraz, “Simple Sacrifice” performed by Nadine Charles, “Take it Back” with Rasiyah plus Philadelphia’s Lady Alma on “Move Over.”

I want to personally thank Dego for giving Trees for Breakfast his official stamp of approval and sending this exclusive joint over for me to post.  It’s called “So Right.”  The name is so self-explanatory it ain’t funny.  I wouldn’t steer you wrong.  And big shouts to Nancy for makin’ it happen.
